ATLAS MARIDAN I HØRSHOLM SØGER NYDANSKERE TIL VÅBENINDUSTRIEN
Lør, 22. sep 2007 20:29

9. november /modifikation

‘Strategic Framework Arrangement’ (SFA).

Go’ morgen
Danmark.
Strudspolitik

Vores have lider nok i forvejen. Mange havdyr lider
alvorligt. Vær med til at stoppe dette vanvid. Nægt at
arbejde for krigsindustrien.

MkI, ‘Autonomous Underwater Vehicle - SeaOtter MkI´
fremvist for de Australiens militærstrateger, som vil
bruge fartøjet til de australske styrker ’Australien
Defence Forces’ (ADF). Styrkerne bliver oplært i det
21. århundredes elektroniske krigsførelse og bliver
trænet til netværksbaseret krigsførelse under RPDE
(RAPID) programmet. ATLAS MARIDAN er med til at fremme
dette globale krigsnetværk, som beklageligvis også er
blevet udviklet her i Danmark på Syddansk universitet,

blevet ofre for krigsmagernes ignorance.

stoppe deres krigsproduktion.

uddrag.

MARIDAN, originally founded in 1993, was one of the
pioneers of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)
technology. It started with AUV research projects
supported by the European Union.

In 2004, the ATLAS ELEKTRONIK and MARIDAN combined
their forces to make best use of the respective
experience and capabilities in order to pull through
MARIDAN‘s operational AUV technology into the military
market.

Today, ATLAS MARIDAN ApS is a 100% subsidiary of ATLAS
ELEKTRONIK. It is the company‘s center of expertise on
AUV technology including:

• AUV Development
• Prototyping
• AUV Operations
• Maintenance and Support of AUVs.

Technical Manager

Effective from 16th May 2007 Helle Jespersen has been
appointed as new Managing Director of
ATLAS MARIDAN, a Danish subsidiary of ATLAS
ELEKTRONIK. Mrs. Jespersen has been working for ATLAS
MARIDAN since March 2005. She follows Tronje
Schneider-Pungs who returned to the company
headquarters in Bremen, Germany.

At the same time Per Fogt has been appointed Technical
Manager for all projects at ATLAS MARIDAN. Per Fogt
has been working for ATLAS MARIDAN with development
and operations of AUV for more
than 10 years and has excellent knowledge and
experience in the AUV technology.

ATLAS MARIDAN, based in Hørsholm, has been
co-operating with ATLAS in the field of AUVs since
the beginning of 2003. ATLAS ELEKTRONIK has enhanced
both its technology and product portfolio
in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) with the
acquisition of the Danish AUV specialist company
in 2004.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicles are going to play a
major role in the future underwater battlespace and in
non-military environments.

MARIDAN was one of the original pioneers of AUV
technology. The company started in 1993 when a group
of scientists started two AUV research projects
supported by the European Union.

ATLAS MARIDAN (on behalf of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK and
Sonartech ATLAS) participated in an Expeditionary Mine
Countermeasures demonstration under the RPDE program
(www.rpde.org.au) from 16th – 27th of April, 2007.
ATLAS MARIDAN was selected as one of the companies to
demonstrate the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle SeaOtter

Program

What is the RPDE Program?
The RPDE Program (or Rapid) is a group of focussed
problem-solvers helping Defence resolve difficult and
challenging bite-sized problems. The program’s mission
is to:
“Enhance the ADF warfighting capacity through
accelerated capability change in the Network Centric
Warfare environment.”
Rapid is a cooperative think tank comprising Defence,
industry and academia.

All efforts are focussed on developing solutions to
issues that hold back the ADF’s capability to more
effectively and safely undertake operations.

Participants in Rapid work in a paid collaborative
environment where commercial interests are put aside
to find the best workable solution to Defence
capability issues.

In most cases the solution is innovative and
incremental, and has synergistic effects on
operational effectiveness.

Defence is increasingly engaging Rapid as it provides
the opportunity for the best and brightest people in
industry to really understand Defence operational
needs and freely contribute to enhancing the ADF’s
capability.

Under Skynet 5, Paradigm is delivering a secure global
satellite communications service over a 18-year
period, initially through the transfer of ownership
and operation of the existing Skynet 4 infrastructure
from the MoD to Paradigm and then by incorporating the
new Skynet 5 satellites and associated ground segment
from 2006 onwards. The programme provides a range of
services, including global mobile voice
communications, video conferencing, multimedia-based
communications and broadcast communications, as well
as supplying a versatile range of shipborne and
land-based terminals, for purchase or lease.

Paradigm now delivers all UK milsatcom requirements.

Paradigm has contracted EADS Astrium (with EADS
Defence & Security Systems as a major subcontractor)
for the design, manufacture and delivery of the
complete end-to-end Skynet 5 system, including three
satellites, launch services, associated control and
management infrastructure and a new generation of land
and shipborne terminals.

Paradigm Services is responsible for full service
delivery, operation and maintenance of the system.
Award of this contract demonstrates both EADS'
expertise in the UK as system integrator, manufacturer
and defence services provider, and its ability to
structure and implement highly complex financing
schemes such as PFI.

Firing Success for ASTER 30 Air Defence MissilesOn 1
June 2005, MBDA successfully conducted a test firing
of the ASTER 30 missile. This firing took place at the
DGA Landes Test Centre (CELM), in south-west France.
London, 06 June 2005
The test firing scenario involved a typical simulation
of the threat to be countered by MBDA’s PAAMS
(Principal Anti-Air Missile System) naval area defence
system. Typically, protection of a friendly ship (or
consort) being attacked by an anti-ship missile in
skimming flight executing a "dog-leg" manoeuvre (90°
high-load factor turn). The target was intercepted at
10 km with complete success.

Marwan Lahoud, MBDA’s Chief Executive Officer, who
attended the firing, declared: “After the successful
salvo firing of ASTER 15 missiles from the Charles De
Gaulle aircraft carrier on 25 May this year, MBDA once
again demonstrated the efficiency of the ASTER air
defence systems which will equip the British, Italian
and French navies”.

Fabrizio Giulianini, Managing Director of MBDA Italy
and Director of the multinational surface-to-air
programme, added: “This gives a clear indication of
how successful the ASTER family-based anti-missile
programmes, including the PAAMS and the SAMP/T, will
be”.

The ASTER 30 missile is common to both the naval PAAMS
system and the SAMP/T land-based air defence system.
This successful firing makes it possible to schedule
an ASTER 30 firing in SAMP/T configuration during the
second half of 2005.

The ASTER SAMP/T system will provide area defence for
forces deployed in theatres of operation against
high-speed aerial targets such as aircraft, UCAV’s
(Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles), cruise missiles and
tactical ballistic missiles in severe ECM
environments. The SAMP/T, which is air-transportable
and compatible with NATO air defence systems, will be
commissioned with the Italian army in 2007 and the
French army and air force in 2010.

The ASTER PAAMS system was ordered by the Royal Navy
and by the French and Italian navies in order to
provide their fleets with area defence and
self-defence capabilities as well as protecting
neighbouring surface ships against all subsonic or
supersonic threats such as missiles, aircraft or
drones. This system will be installed on French
Horizon-class frigates, Italian Orizzonte frigates and
British T45 destroyers.

PAAMS (Principal Anti-Air Missile System) is an
advanced naval defence system programme under the
prime contractorship of EUROPAAMS, an international
joint venture between MBDA (75%) and Thales (25%).
This programme was launched on 11 August 1999
following the signature of a contract by the DGA
between France, the UK and Italy.
Notes to editorsWith an annual turnover exceeding € 3
billion, a forward order book of over €14 billion and
over 70 customers world wide, MBDA is a world leading,
global missile systems company. MBDA currently has 45
missile system and countermeasure programmes in
operational service and has proven its ability as
prime contractor to head major multi-national
projects.

MBDA is jointly owned by BAE SYSTEMS (37.5%), EADS
(37.5%) and FINMECCANICA (25%).
